[SOUND AND CAMERA ISSUES - READ HERE]
If you are having trouble with sound not working, it might be your radio. Make sure you check with your ROM thread as to which radio you should be using. Somewhere in the thread (if not in the first few posts) will mention what radio works with the ROM.
As far as camera issues, try changing your radio.
According to a recent post, there are no technical improvements between .17, .29, and .32. The difference is the Country (France, NL, Russia respectively) regarding the "specific absorbtion rate" Country/Carrier.
Apparently .09 and .11 versions have been improved with .17 but the major difference is the "specific absorption rate" and therefore the battery life improvements.

* This is a French radio and should work with most ROMs that are not the specific ATT build (see 1.27.14.09).
* (At least for TILT users) This radio has been reported to have better battery life and possibly better reception than 1.27.12.11. Along this note, if you have better reception, you might get more out of your battery because your phone won't spend as many cycles looking for a good signal. I don't know if this is true but it is mentioned through the forum.

* This Radio should be a general Kaiser radio that works with ROMs not using the specific ATT build (see 1.27.14.09).

* This radio is a Russian radio and should work with most ROMs that are not the specific ATT build (see 1.27.14.09).
* Some people have reported this radio locks them into EDGE data instead of HSPDA. It probably has something to do with the carrier not operating HSPDA with this radio for some reason.

* This US radio ONLY compatible with the ATT TILT Specific ROMs. More info can be read here.
* If you don't own a TILT you can still use this radio but you have to use a specific TILT ROM. (Keep in mind you'll have to do a keyboard mapping fix if you use a TILT ROM on a non TILT phone)
* AT&T AKU 0.4.4 Rom (ATT packaged ROM) uses this radio
* CUSTEL Series v2.1 Uses this radio
*Alex_'s Latest ROM have a few TILT versions
* Dutty has a ROM that uses this radio
* TILT XDA-Live uses this radio
* Q-Mobile ROM has a TILT version
